In 2026, important changes are taking place regarding the validity of selected Lítačka cards. The oldest plastic cards were issued in 2016 (with an original validity until 2020). These cards have been automatically extended for 10 years, i.e. until this year 2026.
However, their validity can no longer be extended and the cards need to be exchanged for new ones. Below you will find an overview of who is affected, how to verify card validity, how to arrange the exchange, and how to handle coupon transfers.
Look at your Lítačka card. If the validity date below the photo shows the year 2020, the card needs to be exchanged. The exchange can be done even after the expiration date throughout 2026.
This refers to the lifespan of the plastic card itself, not the validity of the coupon.

Lítačka cards issued in 2016 have been automatically extended several times in recent years. However, no further extension will take place in 2026. If you want to continue using a card issued in 2016, it must be exchanged for a new one during 2026.

Where can I find the card number?The card validity is printed directly on the card. The plastic card has its own lifespan and needs to be exchanged after it expires. The card lifespan does not affect coupon validity.
A valid coupon alone is not a valid travel document. For the travel document to be valid, the coupon must always be loaded on a valid identifier (working card, active app). If your card expires, the coupon becomes invalid until you transfer it to a valid identifier.
You can find the validity of your long-term fare in your online account in the My Coupons section. This information is also available at contact points upon presenting your identifier. Your purchased coupon is still valid, it just needs to be on a valid medium (card or app).

You can transfer your valid time coupon to the PID Lítačka mobile app and travel with just your phone. You don't need to use the Lítačka card at all. Just note that a coupon can only be on one identifier at a time — either on a card or in the app. Both at once is not possible.
You can order a new card in your user account at pidlitacka.cz using the "Order Lítačka" option. The new card will be sent to you free of charge via Czech Post as registered mail. You can pick up the delivery with your ID. You can expect the card within 30 days of submitting the request.
The card can be arranged at the Lítačka Customer Centre at Škodův palác and at selected contact or express points. When exchanging due to expiration, you must bring the original card. You are not required to return the original card (except for exchanges due to warranty claims). A card can always only be exchanged for the same type of card.

If you don't have a user account on the pidlitacka.cz portal, you can request a card exchange in person at the Lítačka Customer Centre at Škodův palác or at selected contact points in Prague and the Central Bohemian Region. Another option is to first create an online account at pidlitacka.cz and then submit a card exchange request online from the comfort of your home. Account registration is free and allows you to manage your card and coupons online.
You can request a card exchange easily from your registered account at pidlitacka.cz in the Order Lítačka section. After logging in, select the option to issue a new card and complete the request following the system instructions. You can have the new card sent by post to your chosen address or delivered to a selected contact point. You will be informed about the status of your request by email.
The coupon does not transfer to the new card automatically. The exception is express card exchange at the counter — in this case, the staff will transfer the coupon to the new card right away. If you are exchanging the card online or through standard process, you can transfer the coupon:

No, the coupon remains on the original Lítačka card. To transfer it, visit the Lítačka Customer Centre at Škodův palác or selected contact points.
You can also transfer the coupon online in your user account at pidlitacka.cz or in the PID Lítačka mobile app. For online transfer, both cards (original and new) must be assigned to the same account. The coupon can then be transferred in the My Coupons section.
Other services linked to the previous card (e.g. library card) need to be transferred to the new card directly with the service provider.
The easiest way is to order the card from the comfort of your home by filling out an online application from your registered account at pidlitacka.cz. You can have the ordered card sent by post to your chosen address or to one of our contact points. Another option is to submit a standard application at one of the Prague Public Transit contact points or have the card issued on the spot at the Lítačka Customer Centre at Škodův palác or at express points in the Central Bohemian Region.

If the application is incomplete or if some details do not meet the requirements for card issuance (for example due to an unsuitable photo), your application may be rejected. You will receive an automatic email about the rejection of an online application.
Each application only needs to be paid once. A rejected online application can be corrected and resubmitted for approval. You can edit the application from your account at pidlitacka.cz from which it was submitted, in the Order Lítačka section.
If you wish to cancel an application, send an email to info@pidlitacka.cz or call our info line — please have your application number ready. As long as card production has not started, the application can be cancelled, so please contact us as soon as possible. In case of cancellation, the already paid fee will be refunded within 30 days.
